The SECOND day it was there, I spotted mommy and daddy checking out my hanging acessory. I got worried. Then, they were back and forth so much, so surely, they were just taking pieces from it and building their nest elsewhere. We had a discussion about The Best Nest from the Dr. Suess series with my 1st born. I thought I'd be ok, because they were going elsewhere, no worries right??. {Really, cute book BTW)

Well, they didn't. See the little beak on the other side of the arrow.

They decided this was perfect for their nest, so here the mommy, {or daddy}, not sure with this species, sits there on the eggs all day. I worry for the babies. They know we come in and out often and so they aren't TOO afraid of us, but I wonder if we'll make it through the whole process??
A family a couple of years ago made one on our ledge, and I was so sad when I went out one morning and saw an egg cracked on our walkway. I hope this family stays put until the little one(s) are hatched and they feel safe here.
Darn birds. Now I can't change my arrangement and the flowers have since died. I can't change it or it'll mess with their house, but I don't like seeing my dead wilted twigs.
I think they took it LITERALLY with the words, the birds flying around and the bird house in the picture. I guess it looked inviting??

That's cute. We have Robins in the tree by our front door and they dive bomb you if you get to close. HAHA. My mom has a little wreath by her door and the nest in there. Good Luck.
Had that happen to us years ago with a beautiful wreath my MIL got me for our front entry. Wait til the babies hatch and hear all that chirping all the time, then when they finally leave there's bird poop all over everything! I just had to throw my wreath away, :( See what you get for being "welcoming"!
